Smart Grid Energy Management System for Integrated Distributed Energy Resources (DER)

Brief description of top-tier research results:

  • One project developed and demonstrated the smart home energy management system (SHEMS), which is the first SHEMS that integrates with the AMI architecture in Taiwan.

  • Another project proposed a three-port energy conversion system to achieve high voltage gain, high conversion efficiency, and low stress on power switches.

  • The simulation results showed that the proposed IPSO method can reduce electricity costs by 17.16% and decrease peak loads by 7.87%.

  • A number of proposed micro-grid energy dispatching strategies were simulated and analyzed with mathematical models of wind turbine generation systems and energy storage systems.
